Successful Selling brings alive the essential techniques and principles of effective sales through realistic and humorous scenarios. Aimed primarily at new sales recruits, it can also provide valuable refresher training for more experienced sales professionals.

Available on video and as an interactive e-learning course, our new resource shows how to prepare for customer meetings, including the background information you need; how to understand and anticipate customer needs; how to sell benefits, not features; how to overcome objections; how to deal with difficult or criticising customers; how to keep control of your sales meetings; how to spot the ‘buying signals’; how to close the sale every time and how to probe for new sales opportunities.

“New salespeople will learn a lot from this programme and while experienced salespeople may think they know all there is to know about selling, they will undoubtedly benefit from having a refresher on best practice” – Martin Addison, CEO of Video Arts

“This brand new resource highlights the key techniques and principles for success in every type of sales situation. It brings alive the learning points with memorable characters. The techniques covered are essential for anyone involved in sales or business development.” continued Martin.

The action centres on Alex, a salesman who turns to a sales training app to revive his poor performance. However, he gets sucked into the app and comes face-to-face with its presenter Buddy, who recreates Alex’s past selling experiences to show the mistakes he made. Buddy then coaches Alex through a series of customer encounters and helps him to close sales more effectively.

The video features our ‘wrong way, right way’ learning approach, in which we see someone making common mistakes, that many people will be able to relate to, and then we see how it should be done. “In theory, anyone could learn the principles of successful selling from a book but actually applying those principles in the real world is something very different. This resource shows how to do that. Video is the ideal learning medium for sales skills, as research shows that learning through video is the next best thing to actually doing it yourself,” says Martin.

Successful Selling includes a course leader’s guide, with suggested classroom agendas, exercises and a PowerPoint presentation. The 32-minute video features Kevin Bishop (The Kevin Bishop Show) and James Lance (Boy Meets Girl).
