AI coaching for workplace conversations
The AI Coach allows learners to move beyond knowing what they should do to trying it out.
They can test different responses, reflect on their approach and build confidence without the pressure of getting it right first time in the real world.
How does the AI Coach work?
AI-supported conversations respond to the learner as the scenario develops, creating a more realistic practice experience than following a fixed set of answers.
Learners can also personalise the experience by sharing a little context about their role, workplace or industry before the scenario begins. This helps make the conversation more relevant to the situations they’re likely to face at work.
Text or voice
Not everyone learns sitting at a desk.
Text gives learners the space to pause, think and type their response. Voice can be more practical for people working on site, moving between locations or without the time or space to sit down and type.
With access across desktop and mobile, learners can choose the way they want to take part based on where and how they work.
Responsive conversations
The conversation develops around what the learner says, rather than sending everyone through the same predetermined route.
That means they can try different approaches and see how the conversation changes in response.
Multiple languages
Learners can practise workplace conversations in multiple languages, giving international teams more opportunities to build confidence in a way that works for them.
A private space to practise
Practising a difficult conversation only works if people feel able to get things wrong.
Learners can experiment, rethink an answer and try again without feeling that every response is being assessed by their manager.
Useful analytics for L&D
Learner privacy doesn’t need to mean that L&D teams are left in the dark.
Analytics give teams visibility of participation and engagement, including who is using the learning, while keeping individual coaching conversations private.
It gives L&D the insight they need without taking away the anonymity that makes the experience a safe place to practise.
What does an AI role-play actually look like?
One example from our Customer Service collection puts the learner face-to-face with Mr Rude, a difficult customer who tests how they handle the conversation.
Instead of choosing from a set of answers, they have to decide what to say and how to say it, putting skills like staying calm, choosing the right tone and de-escalating a difficult situation into practice.
Want to see how you’d handle him? Add a little context about your role, workplace or industry. The more relevant the setup, the more useful the conversation can feel.
AI you can feel confident using
We create our AI coaching experiences in partnership with GenLearn, combining their AI expertise with our approach to workplace learning.
The AI Coach is fully GDPR compliant and does not browse the public web. It works only with the learning experience and information it has been given, creating a controlled environment for learners. You can find more detail on privacy and data in our FAQs.
