    About the series

This brand new series created by independent film maker Big Shoulder, includes three training films which will enable organisations to provide greater support to employees, if redundancies have to be made. The films show real people talking about the emotional impact of being made redundant, making other people redundant and surviving a redundancy process. They have been designed to act as a catalyst for discussion, to help those affected to feel less isolated and better equipped to cope.

Big Shoulder's 'Coping with Redundancy' series includes:

    On Being Made Redundant

    Managing the Redundancy Process

    Staying On After Redundancy

These three films can be used separately or as a package offering an invaluable 360 degree look at the impact of the redundancy process on all those affected.

With unemployment figures at their highest for 13 years and predicted to rise to 3 million, the need to support staff before, during and after the redundancy process has never been more relevant.

These films are emotionally compelling because they use the testimonies of authentic people, who have experienced all aspects of the process. They reflect the diversity of emotions people feel at this time and will be an invaluable tool in helping support staff individually or for facilitating discussion in group or training sessions.

    The series includes

    • On Being Made Redundant ( video 12 mins)
    • Managing the Redundancy Process ( video 12 mins)
    • Staying On After Redundancy ( video 10 mins)
    • Leader guides
    • PowerPoint slides
