Overview
Summary of the five-stage plan for shorter and more productive meetings. 1) Plan: be clear about the precise objectives of the meeting. 2) Inform: make sure everyone knows exactly what is being discussed, why, and what you want from the discussion. 3) Prepare: prepare the logical sequence of items. Prepare the time allocating time to each item based on its importance, not its urgency. 4) Structure and control: take the evidence stage before the interpretation stage. Stop people jumping ahead and going over old ground. 5) Summarise and record: summarise all decisions and record them straight away with the name of the people responsible for any action.
