  • Overview

The aim of the diversity training video

To show employees how all types of discrimination can and should be avoided in the workplace.

    Avoid discrimination in the workplace

It may be wrong to treat everybody in the workplace as if they are the same, because people are individuals. But it may be equally as wrong to treat them as different, because of stereotypes or by judging them on one aspect of their persona, such as age or race.

In this programme, Femi Otitoju, a leading authority on equal opportunities, takes us through five clear examples of common discrimination problems using sensitive dramatised case studies, which come with/without commentary, and flexible written materials.

-What can we do for him? Deals with those who have a physical disability and how easy it is to make assumptions about them
-Ron's girls. How inappropriate language about someone else's gender or sexuality can be offensive and cruel, even if it’s not intentional
-Present company accepted... About racial discrimination and the importance of non-verbal communication as well as what people say
-Can't they take a joke? Covers the issue of age and how jokes at the expense of individuals or groups can offend
-Jobs for the boys. Brings all the issues together, when two women second-guess their organisation's recruitment strategy with nothing to go on but stereotypical assumptions

Use this training video if you want to...
