Clown

Life on the other side of stereotypes

  • Overview

    The aim

To encourage people to take a fresh look at their personal assumptions and interactions in our diverse society.

    About the programme

This thought-provoking and entertaining addition to diversity awareness training is for all levels of your organisation. The film follows the lives of three 'Clown-Americans' and their families as they make poignant observations about life on the other side of stereotypes inspired by their clown heritage.

Racial bias, prejudice and discrimination are illustrated, but also included are references to the biases that exist based on ethnicity, language, ability/disability, and religion.

Designed to provide maximum support while allowing flexibility and content options for your facilitation. Divided into diversity concept areas such as discrimination, trust, respect, acceptance and tolerance, one module can be used at a time, or several blended together, for one comprehensive training programme. The facilitator's guide is designed with customisation in mind, enabling you to build a programme specifically addressing your organisation's culture and current training needs.

Either of the included quizzes is an excellent post course support, or can follow a discussion using the PowerPoint presentation.
