About the programme
The Apprentice: the training series is a three-part series of programmes based on BBC's The Apprentice, which offers an entertaining way to develop skills in sales, negotiation, teamwork, team leadership and project management that individuals remember forever. Each programme focuses on the decisions the apprentices made and the consequences of their actions. The examples of their different approaches to problems clearly show how things should and shouldnt be done.
Case studies on projects and people demonstrates how observing the three key stages of any project, and reviewing progress at each point, will improve a project's chance of success. Although the weekly task in The Apprentice is not a normal project under normal circumstances (it's much shorter, the teams are more diverse and the candidates lack the appropriate skills and knowledge), the process remains typical of any project.
In two tasks launching a product line in TopShop, and putting on a catering event for the public the teams experiences prove the importance of the three stages. When you learn to Define It (clarify your objectives, set targets and talk numbers), Plan It (sort out the fine details of whos doing what, by when), and Do It (the action stage), your project should be set to succeed.
